FG Unveils Portal For House Sale…Nigerians Can Buy New Houses From N7.2m And Here’s How To Apply

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has formally launched a portal through which interested Nigerians can apply for purchase of houses built by the Federal Government.


The scheme was unveiled at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Works and Housing in Abuja on Friday.

The houses were built under the current Federal Government’s National Housing Programme (NHP).

Fashola made the announcement on Friday, November 12 in Abuja, during the launch of an online portal for the housing scheme.

The Minister noted that the highest selling price is N16.19 million, adding that the projects are dispersed across the federation’s states and the Federal Capital Territory. He also revealed that the initiative has approximately 5,000 units of housing in various levels of construction.

He said; 

“This is the first time we have a platform that every Nigerian has access to. This provides an opportunity for all Nigerians to apply and ensure a fair process of allocation.”


In other news, Precious Ofure Omonkhoa was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Command, over an alleged bitcoin investment scam.

Following reliable intelligence gathered by the Commission concerning Omonkhoa’s illicit actions, he was detained on November 8, 2021 in the Ikoyi district of Lagos.

According to a statement made by the anti-corruption agency, Omonkhoa allegedly pretended to be Moshem Cnich, a Swedish native, in order to cheat unsuspecting victims of their hard-earned money by pretending to run a bitcoin scheme in which people deposit money in exchange for large returns.

”Preliminary investigation also revealed that the suspect engaged in a dating scam and had defrauded two victims in Canada.

Upon his arrest, the suspect confessed to have laundered the proceeds of his fraudulent activities by purchasing a piece of land worth $150,000USD (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars) through bitcoin from CASA-Cubana, a project being run by the Cubana Group.

Upon his arrest, the sum of $50,000USD was found in his bitcoin wallet.”
