The management of Channels Television, has debunked claims the federal government tried to shut down the station.
Earlier reports by Sahara Reporters had claimed that the Buhari regime is subtly moving to sanction Channels Television, and arrest some of its journalists over recent interviews aired by the platform which are considered to be anti-government.

The management of Channels Television has now asked the general public to disregard report FG is shutting down the station, or arrest of Chamberlain Usoh.
According to them; they only received letter of complaint from the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission.
