FG Approves 20% Salary Increase For Police Officers

The federal government has approved a 20% increase in salary for police officers across the country. The FG made the announcement today according to the punch that the minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi made this known after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, December 15.

Dingyadi speaking to State House Correspondents revealed that the increase which will take effect from January 2022, is a product of the issues raised during the #EndSARS protests. He also said the increase will boost the morale of the officers in the country.

Recall that in October 2020 during the nationwide EndSARS protest one of the demands was an increment in the salary of the police officers and also better welfare in order to make them encouraged in carrying out their duties.
