Like all other humans, celebrities are bound to fall sick at one point or the other. Some “sicknesses” can be waved off by a mere walk to the chemist, while others make them shiver to the bones at the mere mention of their name. Cancer is one of those super scary names that have plagued the Nigerian entertainment industry over-time.
Former Big Brother Africa winner, Karen Igho shocked the entertainment world when she announced her battle with cancer. She went off the grid for a while to battle the terminal monster and in no time, she announced her victory over it.

Popular “Yori Yori” co-crooner, Vast of the bracket group, also took the industry by surprise when he announced his pains to the Nigerian media. The star singer was diagnosed with Lymphoma (Cancer of the blood). After a series of test in a London hospital, he eventually fully recovered, and announced his new cancer-free state.
Africa’s first Nobel-laureate winner, Prof. Wole Soyinka revealed shocking details of his personal travails during the a press conference on Ebola in Ogun state few years ago. The Octogenarian told the Nigerian populace (who were at that time terrified by the wide-spread of Ebola) that he battled prostrate cancer few years ago in silence and as at now, he is completely free from the terminal disease.
