The long arm of the law eventually seized Ex-police boss, John Yusuf, yesterday, as he was sentenced to a 6 year jail term for stealing N32.8 billion from the Nigerian Police pension system during his service years. He was also ordered to refund N22.9 billion.
Yusuf, who initially weaved his way past the justice system when he was sentenced to two years in jail, with the option of paying a fine of N750,000 for the same offence, had a new sentence handed to him yesterday.
Though Yusuf might still wriggle his out of the jail term with the help of his team of lawyers, this case might eventually go down as the first actual corruption victory of the Muhammadu Buhari campaign against corruption.
