The Federal High Court in Kaduna has remanded former Kaduna state governor, Ramalan Yero, in prison for misappropriation of public funds.
Mr. Yero was sent to prison alongside, Mr. Nuhu Wya, a former minister, Mr. Abubakar Gaya-Haruna, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna, and Mr. Hamza Ishaq, a former secretary to the state government.
The four men were detained by court order after they were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday for their roles in the disbursement of N750 million campaign fund for the Peoples Democratic Party during the 2015 general election.
A reliable source from the anti-graft agency told The Cable that: “The case is coming up tomorrow; so I can confirm to you that the former governor is here with us and he will be arraigned at the courts with the three others”.
