Ghanaian ex-President Jerry John Rawlings popularly known as J J Rawlings or Papa J has given up the ghost, a few weeks after laying his late mother to rest.
JJ Rawlings was said to have had a brief illness beyond he finally died today Thursday 12th November, 2020, aged 73.
The State-owned Daily Graphic reported that the former President had been on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for about a week for an undisclosed ailment, and that he had fell sick after his mother’s burial about three weeks ago. Ghgossip, however, reported that he had contracted the dreaded COVID-19 and was in the intensive care unit before giving up.

Jerry John Rawlings was former Ghanaian military leader (4t hJune – 24th September, 1979, then 31 December 1981 to 7 January 1993) and subsequent politician who ruled the country from 1993 to 2001 as the first President of the 4th Ghanaian Republic.
