Everything You Need To Know About The 2018 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinal

France, Uruguay, Russia, Croatia, Brazil, Belgium, Sweden and England rounded up the list of nations that will feature in the 2018 FIFA world cup quarterfinal match series.


France were the first team to book their spot in the quarterfinals courtesy of a prolific Saturday afternoon performance by Kylian Mbappe. Uruguay joined Les Bleus at the top, after a man of the match performance by Edison Cavani eliminated Portugal from the tournament.
Russia, recorded a historic victory over Spain to book their place in the quarterfinals, after defeating La Roja 4-3 in a penalty shootout. Croatia joined the reigning teams on Sunday after defeating Denmark 3-2 in a penalty shootout.

Belgium needed an 88th minute finisher from Nacer Chadli to seal their spot in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament, after the Japanese Samurai stunned the Red Devils with two screaming goals in the early stages of the second half. Sweden edged out the Swiss team after a very close match, to book their place in the quarterfinal, Emil Frosberg scored the much needed winner in the 66th minute to launch the Swedish team into the quarterfinals.
The Three Lions of England recorded their first ever penalty shootout win in the FIFA world cup on Tuesday, to round up the list of teams in the world cup quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals will kickoff on Friday, July 6, with an opening match between Uruguay and France at the Nizhny Novgorod stadium at 3:00pm. Followed by Brazil’s Friday night thriller against Belgium at the Kazan Arena at 7:00pm.
The last 8 match series will continue on Saturday afternoon with an action packed tie between Sweden and England at the Samara Arena at 3:00 pm. The quarterfinal match series will end on Saturday night with a thriller between Russia and Croatia.
