The weekend kicked off with the celebration of Peter and Paul Okoye’s 40th birthday, as they finally settled their 5-year old family feud. The twin brothers who were former members of the defunct group, PSquare are now back together with their elder brother, Jude Okoye. It was such a way to start the weekend as Nigerians are still screaming for joy and they all anticipate a hit single/album them.
Moving on to the next event, Nigerians are still recovering from the shock of singer Davido’s giveaway of N250million to orphanages across Nigeria. Remember last week the singer took to social media where he called out to friends to send him N1million each, and the money started rolling in, just like that.
The Jowo singer was able to raise N201 million, and he went on to add N50million, making it N251million, which he revealed that the money will be shared by a 5-man panel across orphanages in Nigeria. The moment he did this, people like singer Babafryo came out to say that, it is funny that he is giving orphans that no one knows N251million, but when he cried out because he had depression, Davido did not respond. Political activist Reno Omokri gave the reply of the century, saying that he has no right to feel entitled to money that he did not work for. The perfect reply, many have commented. Other celebrities like Erica Nlewedim, BBNaija Maria, Reno Omokri, Bisi Alimi, hailed Davido for taking such a bold step.
