Following the ongoing crisis experienced by Etisalat in which a consortium of banks led by Access bank took over its management, many suscribers of the network service on edge but the telecommunications commission NCC on Tuesday assured suscribers of continued service integrity from the network.The Etisalat group had failed in its efforts to negotiate the loan owed to the banks before its deadline. There were also reports of irreconcilable differences following an alleged poor handling of the debts issued. Mubdala the the Abu Dhabi government-owned investment and development company, served notice of its decision to pull out of the investment and quit Nigeria. Following the whole brouhaha, Etisalat subscribers were worried of the effect of this development on them. But now, the Nigerian Communication Commission was quick to assure over 21 million telephone users on the Etisalat network that it is committed to exercising its full regularity powers to guarantee stable and quality services for operators. Following the failed loan repayment, EMTS has announced the commencement of the process to unveil a new shareholding structure and new trading name to the company during the transition stage. Assuring subscribers, the EMT said that the latest development would not affect the normal operations as there would still be delivery of quality services.
