Ese Brume Dedicates Olympic Medal To Bishop Oyedepo After Calling On His God

Nigerian athlete, Ese Brume, who did the Giant of Africa the honour and access to her first medal in the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has dedicated her win to the founder and Senior Pastor of Living Faith Bible Church, Bishop David Oyedepo.

Ese Brume’s 6.97m jump came just short of 0.3 of Germany’s Malaika Mihambo’s 7.00m and American Brittney Reese’s 6.97m. The African Record holder leapt to a distance of 6.76m, 1cm more than the required mark to seal her place in the finals.Ese Brume Dedicates Olympic Medal To Bishop OyedepoBefore leaping to her first Olympic medal with a jump of 6.97m, Ese could be seen saying, “God of David Oyedepo, I want to do this”.

Speaking at the mixed zone of the Olympic Stadium Tokyo, Ese Brume stated that the medal means a lot said she was dedicating her first Olympic medal to Bishop Oyedepo, her coach Kayode Gaya and her family. “This medal means a lot to me. It doesn’t matter the colour. First, I dedicate it to Bishop Oyedepo and I plan to decorate him with the medal later. I am super excited that I made it to the top three at the Olympics. Honestly, I can’t contend with my joy”, she said.

“I have never seen myself in worse situations because I was injured. But my coach kept pushing and my trust in God renewed my energy. When I broke the African record, my injury was still fresh. It spurred me.
