While the recent battering little Chinonye Nnadi received from her masters brought her breakthrough from their wickedness, it has also brought her good fortune as Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu awarded her scholarship for upto University level.
Videos and pictures of the 10-year-old housemaid surfaced in social media on Friday last week, showing scars from hot press iron on her body and nail drills on her head. Ifeoma Ozougwu, her mistress had also sprayed pepper in her privates ( just because of this).
In a statement released by the State Commissioner of Information Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, Governor Ugwuanyi directed an immediate implementation of the award by the State scholarship board. It added that Ugwuanyi also directed further the immediate release of financial support to the family of the child for their upkeep.
Chinonye’s hospital expenses is currently covered by Enugu government via the State Ministry of Gender Affairs and Social Development, as the Governor ordered the ministry to find the best available medical care for the child.
