#EndSARS: Government Will No Longer Tolerate Violence – Minister Of Police Affairs

The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, on Tuesday, after the Federal Council Meeting said to the in-house journalist that the Federal Government will ensure that there’s no repeat of the violence that was unleashed on parts of the country that came as an aftermath of the recent #EndSARS protest. The Minister disclosed this to State House correspondents as at the end of a meeting with members of the National Security Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Minister Muhammad Dingyadi quoted the President acknowledging that all relevant stakeholders will be carried along, most especially the youths in the FG’s bid to prevent the repeat of such outbreak of violence and in the process of peacebuilding.

Asked whether it would include a crackdown on potential protesters, the minister replied,

“On the issue of #EndSARS that you have raised, what we are saying is that government will continue to dialogue, it will continue to listen and will continue to carry all stakeholders along in ensuring that there is no repeat of what happened that destroyed a lot of properties, public and private, individuals in this country.”
