Elections 2023: Elections Not Free, Fair, Say Okowa, Datti-Ahmed

The vice-presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, Ifeanyi Okowa and Datti Baba-Ahmed, said that there was no transparency in the just concluded Saturday elections.

The duo disclosed their position at a joint press conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

KOKO TV had reported that during a joint press conference by three opposition parties, the PDP, LP and the African Democratic Congress demanded that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, should step aside over what they called irregularities that allegedly marred the presidential and National Assembly elections of Saturday.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the vice-presidential candidate of the PDP, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State said “the election was a sham, and never free and fair.”

In other news, the Labour party candidate, Peter Obi was declared as the winner of the Presidential candidate in Delta state.

The result was announced on Tuesday by the State Collation Officer, Prof. Owunari Georgewill of the University of Port-Harcourt at the Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters in the state.
