Yobe chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka aka Bill Gates has explained why the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lost last Saturday in the State.

Yobe has been considered the stronghold of the APC but the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar won with 198,567 votes to Tinubu’s 151,459 votes.

Yobe PDP governorship candidate, Alhaji Bashir Sadiq, told KOKO TV that the victory of Atiku is a referendum for the gubernatorial contest on March 11.

“What happened last Saturday is just a referendum to the gubernatorial election and we are going to win Yobe Isha Allah come March 11.’’

He said the APC-led Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration has failed the people, stating the people were tired of the ruling party.

“We cannot continue to suffer in silence and the people have shown that in the ballot. APC is a government that is against the common people and the people in government failed to recognize that power belongs to the people and Allah. People are tired of them and what happened is just a referendum for us to take over power in Yobe come March 11, 2023,’’ he stressed.

But Gadaka explained the defeat was because an influential cleric instructed people to vote for Atiku, which affected what the APC and Governor could do.
