The Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja will deliver judgment on petitions challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, September 6.
In May, KOKO TV NG reported that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal merged the petitions submitted by the various political parties while giving the pre-hearing report on the petition and presenting the trial schedule.
It also reserved judgment on the petitions filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party in order to deliver the judgements on the same day as that of Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Recently, it denied that it had fixed September 16 for the judgment.
In other news, Bauchi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal yesterday reserved judgment in the petition by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC), Amb. Sadiq Baba Abubakar, challenging the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 governorship election.
This came after parties in the matter had adopted their final addresses.
However, the tribunal said during its sitting that it would communicate a date to deliver its judgment to the parties.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the first respondent in the petition while Governor Bala Mohammed and his Deputy, Jatau is listed as the second and third respondent, respectively.
