The governorship and House of Assembly elections in Ogun State have commenced early sticking strictly to schedule as promised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Heavy security presence has been reported in the Ogun State capital, Abeokuta as residents trooped out en-masse to exercise their civic right.

The commencement of the process began in most polling units in the metropolis as electoral officials arrived their duty posts as early as 7:45am in Ward 14 unit 005 and 008, Oluwo.
Also, voting has reportedly commenced at Polling Unit 014 in Egunrege, Ikenne Ward 1 in Ikenne Local Government Area for the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo will cast their vote in Polling Unit 014.
The Nigerian Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are reportedly present in and around the Polling Units.

An Assistant Presiding Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced the process at 8:30 am.
