Ekiti 2018: Kayode Fayemi Suspends Campaign To Mourn Kole Ajayi

Kayode Fayemi has described the death death of Kole Ajayi as “saddening and devastating.”

APC Ekiti governorship candidate, Fayemi in a statement on Tuesday (May 22) by his Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode – directed that all activities by his campaign be put on hold this week in honor of the party’s governorship aspirants, Kole Ajayi who died last Friday aged 51. “Kole Ajayi was a thoroughbred professional, highly resourceful politician and advocate of good governance. He was a man you can trust to discharge an assignment effectively once he is convinced it would lead to the general good,” the statement reads.

Fayemi who’s presently out of the country on official assignment will face Olusola Eleka (PDP), Segun Adewale (ADP) and governorship candidates from other parties in the July 14 election in Ekiti State. Adewale resumed his political campaign activities in Ado Ekiti on Monday after suspended his political campaign activities to mourn Kole Ajayi, last weekend. Ajayi, a former National President of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association, died on his way to Lagos for a function of the Union. The remains of the lawyer-turned-politician will be buried in Ado Ekiti on May 31.
