People wondered why some celebrities decided to walk the red carpet after Billy Porter, he definitely bagged the campiest style award! But then again, we guess their excuse could be he didn’t walk, he was carried, which of course, still made his style so iconic, Billy made a statement and it’s a wow!
Arriving as the Egyptian sun god, Billy Porter was carried by men in gold while he was literally covered in gold. Billy’s outfit described by Vogue was: “a bejeweled catsuit outfitted with 10-foot wings, a 24-karat gold headpiece, as well as custom gold-leaf Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and fine jewels by Andreoli and Oscar Heyman.” While describing his style, Billy said: “Camp means irreverence,” he said. “Camp means as hugely over-the-top and grand and what some may feel is ridiculous and silly, and embracing all of those creative impulses inside us that very often are squelched.” All we can say about Billy’s style is…Holy wings!
