Ebonyi State Governor Sacks Justice Commissioner Over Alleged Misconduct

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has sacked the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Augustine Nwankwagu, for alleged misconduct. In a three-paragraph statement issued in Abakaliki, the state capital on Thursday and signed by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Clement Nweke, the governor reiterated that Nwankwagu was relieved of his appointment over acts that were inconsistent with his official duties.

It added, “This is sequel to Nwankwagu conduct which was found to be inconsistent with his position as a public servant.” The statement also directed Nwankwagu to hand over all government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary/Solicitor General Ministry of Justice before the close of work on Thursday.
