DSS Restores Saraki’s Security After Osinbajo’s Intervention

The Department of State Services, DSS, has restored some of the security operatives attached to Senator Bukola Saraki on Tuesday morning after Yemi Osinbajo intervened in the issue.

According to The Cable, 4 of the 9 security aides withdrawn from the senate president on Sunday, were asked to resume their duties on Tuesday.

Though the renowned security agency, DSS, claimed that the operatives were never withdrawn in the first place, a member of the house of reps told the press that: “I can confirm to you that the DSS has withdrawn 50 percent of its security details attached to the speaker. If they say they didn’t withdraw them, the details that left were raptured?

After resolving the escort withdrawal case, the vice-president also finalized the police invitation that demanded the Senate President’s appearance at the National Police Headquarters in Abuja, to answer questions on his alleged involvement in the Offa robbery case.
After Osinbajo’s proposal was accepted, the Nigerian police later announced that Saraki would no longer have to report physically but should send a written response “within 48 hours”.
