Nigerian singer, Simi has said that as the coronavirus pandemic hits everyone in different places, it is important that people respect government’s directive and sit at home.
Taking to Twitter, she said although people might complain that they have nothing to eat, staying at home, drinking garri and being safe is far better than going out and putting yourself at risk.
She wrote “I acknowledge my privilege, but they should stay inside. I always speak on the ills of society, of the government – so I can’t be guilt-tripped. Even if I could be, I don’t mind. Just stay inside. Drink garri if you must, but stay inside. Stay alive. Thank you.”
