Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke has cried out on social media over how underpaid actors are in Nigeria. The TV star took to Instagram to share that many people envy actors and other public figures but they are just underpaid actors.
The actor in his post went on a lengthy rant and explained that the pay can be compared to peanut, whack food, the work condition is best compared to slavery but on red carpet dates they dress to the T packaging and ignore the problems of the industry. He further slammed awards and red carpets saying they now give awards for best-dressed on the red carpet ignoring the actual film that should be the focus.
The versatile actor shared that filmmaking is a collaborative effort till it’s time to share money. Gideon Okeke explained that the same musicians make money off streams from music platforms actors should make money off every view from video-on-demand platforms globally.
