Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, has tested positive for coronavirus, according to Donald Trump.
Mr Giuliani has been at the forefront of Trump’s efforts to discredit the results of the presidential election which was won by Joe Biden.

The 76-year-old is now a close aide of the outgoing president and has been spreading unfounded conspiracy theories about widespread voter fraud.
Trump tweeted: .”Rudy Giuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!”.
Trump’s legal avenues to dispute the election results continue to narrow day by day.
However Republicans, wary of drawing his ire, continue to present a wall of silence regarding Democratic president-elect Joe Biden.
Mr Giuliani’s advanced age of 76 makes him at risk of suffering serious ill health from the virus.
Covid-19 has ripped through the president’s close circle with Trump, his wife Melania, his sons Barron and Don Jr all suffering from the virus.
