Discover Why Diezani Wants To Return To Nigeria Amidst Money Laundering Case

In a surprising turn of events, former Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke is ready to clear the longstanding rumor that she laundered billions of naira while in office as the Federal Minister of petroleum resources from 2010-2015. Madueke turned heads in the Federal High Court in Lagos today when her lawyer submitted a prayer on her behalf appealing to the court to compel the Attorney General of The Federation to bring her back to Nigeria so she can defend herself in the N450 million money laundering case involving Mr Dele Belgore and Prof Abubakar Suleiman.The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission claimed that the N450 million naira was part of the $115 million that Diezani diverted from the federation account to support the Jonathan Administration in the 2015 general elections. Diezani want the court to include her in the list of defendants to enable her clear all allegations that she is at large.Presiding over the case, Justice Aikawa decided not to entertain Diezani’s application till all parties has been duly served. He adjourned the case till the 4th of October for continued hearing.
