Diogo Dalot has sent a message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Aaron Wan-Bissaka amid claims the Manchester United boss considers him surplus to requirements.
Solskjaer splashed £50million to sign England Under-21s star Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace this week, making him the most expensive full-back of all time.
The Norwegian was keen to get the deal over the line as he isn’t convinced that Dalot has what it takes to make United’s right-back position his own. Reports suggest Solskjaer is even looking at selling the young Portuguese defender to recoup cash spent on Wan-Bissaka, suggesting Dalot has no future at the club.
But the Jose Mourinho signing doesn’t appear to be overly concerned by Solskjaer’s alleged opinion of him, nor the competition for places Wan-Bissaka brings. Taking to Twitter on Sunday night, the defender posted an image of himself training hard ahead of the new season.
Alongside the image he issued a clear warning to those who doubt his ability. “Nothing but hard work, waiting for the new season to kick off,” Dalot wrote.
