Senator Dino Melaye has reacted to the judgement of the Appeal court on the Kogi west senatorial election that crowned smart Adeyemi as the winner. The senator lost to Adeyemi at the appeal court but said they have not given up.
The ruling, which was delivered by a three-man panel of the Abuja division of the court, affirmed the judgment of the Kogi state election petitions tribunal which previously upheld the election victory of Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congres (APC). The court also unanimously resolved all the seven issues considered in the case against Dino Melaye and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and further awarded the cost of N50,000 against Melaye and in favour of Adeyemi.
“I give God the praise especially for my life and I want to say there is a season for everything. This is how God wants it to go and I want to believe that there will be a new order. Gog will restore whatever we have lost. “This judgement does not translate or cure the killing and rigging that took place during the election. We try again another day. No retreat no surrender.”
