Tyson Fury believes Deontay Wilder would knock out Anthony Joshua inside three rounds if the heavyweight rivals were to ever meet.

‘The Gypsy King’ fought Wilder three times, avenging a controversial draw with an emphatic knockout win in February 2020 before settling their trilogy in an epic encounter last October.

The bout never materialised – but Fury believes ‘The Bronze Bomber’ would make light work of his rival if they ever fight.

‘I’d say Deontay Wilder would KO the bum inside 3 rounds,’ Fury wrote about the fight on Twitter.

Fury is now set to fight British rival Dillian Whyte with Joshua to meet Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch having lost his world titles to the undefeated Ukrainian last year.

Wilder meanwhile does not currently have a return date but has been linked with a bout with Andy Ruiz Jr.

The 35-year-old has also been offered a comeback fight against another former world champion in Joseph Parker.

‘I’m in the United States at the moment, and Joseph Parker has signalled he’d like to do what Tyson Fury has done and go to America and beat Americans,’ Parker’s promoter David Higgins said.

‘Not many British have done that. Joseph has said he’ll fight any of the big-name and high-ranked Americans. [He’s open to] Deontay Wilder, Andy Ruiz to Luis Ortiz [and] to Michael Hunter.

‘Any of them we would look at. It will be interesting to see if any of these big-name Americans are willing to get in a ring with Joseph Parker.

‘We indeed reached out and made it known the opportunity is there. My job now is to model up what the American opportunities would look like.’
