Deck-On-Pile Bridge At Ijora-Olopa Lagos Is At Serious Risk As It Caves

The Lagos State Government has alerted the public on life-threatening danger on failed Deck-on-Pile Bridge at Ijora Olopa inbound Ijora Oloye.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde on Wednesday said the alert became necessary pending when repairs would be carried out by the Federal Government.

He said the government had released traffic diversion in the area.

To minimise traffic, Oladeinde said motorists from Eko Bridge were advised to utilise Iganmu/Sifax to access Ijora Oloye or Apapa.

He added that motorists from Iddo heading to Ijora-Oloye/Apapa would be diverted at the intersection underpass on a contra flow to reconnect at the U-Turn inwards Ijora-Oloye or Apapa.

“The Ministry appeals to motorists who make use of the corridor to cooperate with the State’s Traffic Management Authority, (LASTMA) and the interventions put in place to manage the traffic,” he stated.
