A Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto has been murdered on Thursday morning.
She was killed by Muslims who accused her of alleged blasphemy.
Media reports indicates that the deceased, identified only as Ms Deborah, was accused of passing unflattering comments about Prophet Mohammed on the college campus.
Following immediate threats to her safety, she was immediately evacuated to the security post of the school, according to a student who witnessed the development.
But the mob pursued her to the security post and overpowered the personnel on duty.
A video of how she was murdered and set ablaze has already gone viral on the social media.
Authorities of the college have issued a statement announcing immediate closure of the school over the fracas that broke out following the incident.
The of Deborah has attracted condemnation from Nigerians. She was lynched and then set ablaze. Thereafter the killers filmed the barbaric action and posted it online.
The college in Sokoto has since been shut indefinitely by the authorities. Students have been asked to vacate the campus.
