Media reports indicates that Manchester United have made a move for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
United are up against Everton, like they were for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, according to French newspaper L’Equipe. It has reported that the Toffees are interested in a loan deal while United are keen for a permanent transfer, although Chelsea are reluctant to sell to a rival.
United are eager to bring in a centre back and Mourinho, who brought Zouma to Chelsea, has been left frustrated over the club’s lack of new signings this summer. Mourinho confirmed that he wanted two new players before the transfer window closes on August 9, but admitted that he only expects to get one at best at the end of July. ‘I would like to have two more players,’ said Mourinho. ‘I think I am not going to have two. I think it’s possible I am going to have one. It’s possible.
