Davido Signs Sinzu To DMW Seven Years After “Carolina” Collabo!

Davido has signed rapper Sinzu to his record label DMW!

It was 7am in Nigeria on Monday morning (May 28) when Davido took to Twitter to inform the fans that he will be announcing DMW’s new artist in Washington, DC – which is five hours behind Nigeria according to global time difference. Soon after, Davido was spotted on stage with Sinzu, who took to his Intsgaram page to share a video of their performance in DC with the caption: “Still rocking Carolina ft @davidoofficial in 2018…. and we bout to duck em up some more.”

This is coming just days after Davido announced the signing of indigenous rapper Idowest, while hinting that he might also be adding a female artist to his record label, Davido Music Worldwide which already houses the likes of Davido himself, Mayorkun, Dremo, Peruzzi and Yonda. Davido and Sinzu both collaborated on hit single, “Carolina,” which was released in 2011. “Pronounce Sinzu, See as e be now, Carolina, Judge the P now,” the new DMW signee rapped in Carolina.

Sinzu formerly known as Sauce Kid – real name Babalola Falemi – was recently released from a United States prison following his two-year jail term for $15388 credit card fraud at the Treasure Valley. “Enough space for the real. Here I come,” Sinzu tweeted in April after nearly two years of saying nothing on the social app. “Did the crime, did the time, the past don’t matter, mind over matter, onto other matters.” Sinzu’s first single “Omoge” featuring Mike Okri was released in 2005, and was followed with his most liked mixtape “Best of Both Worlds: Money Long The Mixtape,” that dropped 2006.
