Gov. Umahi Bans Night Clubs, Drinking Joints And Others In Ebonyi State

Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi has imposed a ban on drinking joints, night clubs and restaurants in Ebonyi, as the state continues to make efforts in its bid to curb the second of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.   

This new measure was announced by the Special Assistant to the Governor On Media and Publicity, Mr Francis Nweze who said the Governor has issued the ban at the flag-off of the second wave of COVID-I9 protocol compliance campaign at the Exco-Chambers at the old Government House in Abakaliki on Thursday, December 21.

Gov Dave Umahi who had directed the complete enforcement of the COVID-19 precautionary measures, where he also included that worships on Sunday must not last longer than 2-hours across the state. He also announced the plans to begin the local production of oxygen in the state so as to cut the cost of fighting the pandemic.

The Governor appealed to residents of the state to embrace steam inhaling for detoxification and further expressed the determination of the government to scale up testing beyond 450 per local government area.
