The House of Representatives has announced that it will demand the removal of Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), if what they term the “attempt to sabotage Dangote Refinery” does not cease immediately.
The deputy spokesperson of the House, Philip Agbese, stated this while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Saturday.

Agbese noted that the lawmakers had already called for the sack of the leadership of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA.
He observed that both agencies – NNPCL and NMDPRA – have shown that they are interested in destroying the Dangote Refinery.
He stated that many Nigerians have called off the proposed hardship protest, but added that they want to see Kyari sacked if that would guarantee the smooth functioning of the country.
According to him, the House would investigate the ongoing spat between Dangote Refinery and the NMDPRA.
Agbese said the investigation is in line with the House’s commitment to protect all national assets and critical economic infrastructure, like the Dangote Refinery.
