Former Manchester United defender Daley Blind collapses on the pitch during on Tuesday, August 25 during a pre-season friendly against German side Hertha Berlin raising major concern over his career being cut short bearing in mind his diagnosis last year of him having a heart condition.
The Ajax defender was diagnosed with a heart muscle inflammation after suffering from dizziness during Ajax’s Uefa Champions League match against Valencia in December.
Daley Blind was fitted with a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (S-ICD System) after his Champions league episode and returned back to full training and macth action in February. The device constantly monitors and regulates the heart’s rhythm.

However concerns over his health became more evident on Tuesday evening in Amsterdam after he collapsed in the closing stages of his teams match against Hertha Berlin that led to his teammates rushing to his aid after falling to the floor suddenly.
After the game Ajax boss Erik Ten Haag reportedly said Blind was feeling “Okay” but wopuld definitely undergo further tests at the hospital on Wednesday morning.
Ten Hag said to Dutch TV station Ziggo Sport, “Daley Blind’s ICD went off. He got subbed off straight away and he is feeling OK now, he is feeling fine. We will do research about this now.”
Daley Blind who spent 4 seasons at Manchester United signing for the Premier league giant same time as his national team manager and countryman Louis Van Gaal became United manager.
