Curious Teenager Gets USB Cable Stuck Up His Peni*

Medical practitioners had to remove a smartphone cable from a teenager’s penis – after he shoved up there out of “curiosity”, it emerged today. The 13-year-old shoved the charging lead nearly eight inches up his urethra before realising he couldn’t pull it out again. He was then left in excruciating pain as the cable became tangled before knotting in his bladder. His worried parents rushed him to a local hospital in Linkou, north-eastern China, where medics applied lubrication in a bid to pull the cable out. But that didn’t work and left the boy in even more pain, so he was transferred to the Harbin Children’s Hospital the next day.Doctors there were forced to cut the lad open to get the cable out. He was finally discharged from hospital on Tuesday – more than two weeks after surgery. Doctor Xu Liyan is Harbin Children’s Hospital’s resident urologist. She said: “He cut off one end of the cable and inserted it into his urethra. “The cable reached his bladder, where it tangled and ended up in a knot, so when he tried to pull it back out, it became stuck.”Doctor Xu said she had no choice but to operate on the boy. They cut into his bladder to find the knotted cable, snipped the tangled section and removed the remaining cord through his urethra the same way it went in. The boy, who has not been named, claimed he inserted the cable into his penis because he was “curious” about his genitalia.Photo Credit: Getty
