Curb Phone Searching And Harassment – Edo Youths Write Obaseki

The Edo Youth Coalition for Good Governance EYCGG has written Governor Obaseki to put an end to the harassment and recent incidences of phone searching they are facing in the State.
In a 2-page letter addressed to the Governor, the coalition which consists of youths across Human Right groups, Civil Societies, Social movements, Community youths and unions, across Edo North, Central and South Senatorial districts, said it has taken keen interest in some cases of human rights violations and abuses which took place on the 8th of October 2020 in Ekpoma, and also Auchi.Obaseki Edo State
“Edo Youth Coalition for Good Governance (EYCGG), is a coalition of Youth groups consisting of several Human Right groups,Civil Societies,Social movements, Community youths and unions, across Edo North, Central and South Senatorial districts. We act to build a just society with respect for human rights and Rule of Law, empower, develop our people and communities, create employment opportunities and partner with the government to enshrine good governance towards the development of our vast youth population and Edo state at large.”

“We have taken keen interest in some cases of human rights violations and abuses which took place on the 8th of October 2020 in Ekpoma, and also Auchi, all of Edo state. We regret to state that up till this moment there have been no action from the government as the cases of some of these victims continues to worsen. Though we are constantly doing our part to support the victims. We request the action of the government and support concerning the aforementioned at the earliest possible time”, the letter reads.
