Cuba Gooding Jr is facing allegations that he raped a woman twice at a hotel in Manhattan in 2013, adding to a growing list of sexual assault accusations. A lawsuit filed on Tuesday in Manhattan’s federal court alleges that the actor attacked the anonymous woman after meeting at a VIP lounge at Greenwich Village.

Gooding Jr denies the incident took place, according to his lawyer Mark Heller. “My client is totally innocent of any of these false allegations and we’re confident it will be dismissed. “She’s probably just somebody who’s looking for some glory to bask in the publicity and notoriety of Cuba Gooding Jr.’s case.”

The lawsuit says that the woman agreed to go to a nearby Soho hotel with Gooding Jr, where they planned a meet up of their friends. However, Cuba Gooding Jr apparently convinced the woman to go upstairs with him, under the guise of needing to change his clothes. It is then alleged that he put on music and attacked the woman, removing her clothes and pinning her down while he raped her twice, despite her repeatedly saying no. The filing, which is seeking unspecified damages, says the woman was left with emotional pain, suffering, and a loss of enjoyment and life.
