Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to break yet another record when he features against Liechtenstein in Portugal’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying match to become the most capped men’s international player of all-time.

Ronaldo made his first appearance in the Portuguese national team against Kazakhstan in 2003 which makes it almost 20 years.

Ronaldo has so far recorded 196 caps for Portugal in a very successful international career as the Al-Nassr attacker looks to keep playing for the Portuguese side as he aims to make another appearance at the Euro 2024.

Presently, the former Manchester United man is tied on 196 international appearances with Kuwait legend Bader Al-Mutuwa, who is coincidentally same age having also made his national team debut in 2003.

It should be noted that the Portuguese’s closest rival, Lionel Messi will also be looking to break the appearance record as he has 172 caps to his name for Argentina.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward could add more caps to his name this international break though after being named as part of Lionel Scaloni’s 35-man squad to face Panama and Curacao in friendlies.
