Court Admits CCTV Footage Of Baba Ijesha, After His Lawyers Argues It Is Inadmissible

It seems to be a minus one for Baba Ijesha and his defense counsel as the Lagos State High Court in charge of his case admits the closed-circuit television CCTV footage captured in comedienne Princess’ house where Baba Ijesha allegedly molested the teenager, 7 years after allegedly defiling her, as one of the evidences against him in the ongoing case.

Recall that the molestation and minor defilement allegation laid against the actor had had a court hearing today, a few weeks after his release. The CCTV footage had been leaked while the case was hot on social media by The PUNCH, with the claims that a Police source divulged it. Princess, the forster mother of the victim, however, said she has no hand in the release.Court Admits CCTV Footage Of Baba Ijesha, After His Lawyers Says It Is Not AdmissibleThe State Director of Public Prosecution DPP, Olayinka Adeyemi presented three witnesses including Comedienne Princess against the actor who is being tried on a six-count charge which includes sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault. Shortly after Princess gave an account of what transpired, Adeyemi presented a CD copy of the CCTV footage before the court as evidence before the Special Offences courts unit of the Lagos State High Court.

Baba Ijesha’s counsel, Babatunde Ogala however opposed this, arguing that the CCTV footage was not primary evidence. “Primary evidence is not secondary evidence. The maker of the CCTV footage is the primary evidence. The CD is secondary evidence which is not admissible”, he reportedly told the court.

She (Princess) has laid enough foundation, so it’s admissible. The witness has given enough information on it so I’ll allow it”, she said.Court Admits CCTV Footage Of Baba Ijesha, After His Lawyers Says It Is Not AdmissibleTRENDING VIDEO OF THE DAY: I Will Like To See Bobrisky Naked – Cossy Orjiakor Photos Credit: Getty
