Testicles Makes Men More Vulnerable To Coronavirus

According to a new research on the novel Coronavirus, its believed that the reason why the Coronavirus is more prevalent in men as compared to women is because of the higher level of protein that could be found in the body system of a man as compared to women. Coronavirus

According to a preliminary report posted on MedRxix, a couple of researchers who have followed the recovery of 68 patients in Mumbai to study the gender disparity of the virus. Dr Aditi Shastri, an Oncologist at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx her mother, Dr Jayanthi Shastri; a microbiologist at the Kasturba Hospital for infectious Disease in Mumbai have now revealed that the virus is a protein lover and always attaches itself to a protein that can be found in a high propensity in the testicles.

Study discloses that the Coronavirus bonds more in a man’s body because of a type of protein present naturally in a man’s body that can be found in the lungs, intestine, heart and also the testicles explaining why the disease is more prevalent in men than women.

According to the study, COVID-19 binds with cells that express the ACE2 protein, or angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 which is less prevalent in ovarian tissue. Photo Credit: Getty
