Nigerian celebrities have since the outbreak of the coronavirus in Nigeria been using social media as a vehicle to voice their thoughts and call out the excesses of the government for not taking measures to safeguard the life of its citizens.
Singer, Yemi Alade is one of these celebrities. The Shekere singer has been using her Twitter page to call out the government for not doing enough in the face of this pandemic.
In one tweet, she wroteHow can our leaders only care about what they can get for theirs pockets and families. Even if Nigeria is a business venture, what happens to the people who are the engine room of this business? Since 1960?”.
In another she wrote “We have to pray for this country, SPARE AT LEAST 5 MINUTES TO SAY A SHORT PRAYER, that our leader may receive SENSE.”
