The Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Ogunwusi has appealed to world leaders to join hands together in fighting the coronavirus pandemic and also find a lasting solution to it.
Oba Ogunwusi revealed this yesterday in Akure while donating two locally-made motorized modular fumigators and drone sprinklers to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the Government House. He said that the drone sprinkler and fumigators were initiatives of the House of Oduduwa Machine Tools, a gesture to help the state government in its fight against Coronavirus.
The Yoruba paramount monarch said that the fumigators were locally fabricated to be environmentally-friendly, adding that every leader must be pragmatic enough to preferring solutions to the current pandemic. “Why are you a king if you cannot cater for your people? In the olden days, kings would always be at the war front leading the way. I am just leading by example and to show to everybody that COVID-19 is real”. “But the positive side of COVID-19 is why we are here. What we are doing is very important and important than food.”
The Ooni of Ife said that he embarked on the project as a way of playing his own traditional roles and contributing his own quota as a leader to the development of his people. “Within the little resource we have, we are using it to cater for our people. We must use what we have to get what we want. Every leader must be pragmatic. “We must come together and support the leaders. Two fumigators to the state and the drone will work for a particular period of time.”
