The Jigawa state government has announced the lockdown of the Kazaure local Council after the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed a second Coronavirus case in the state. The governor of the state Governor Badaru Abubakar confirmed the new case at a press briefing in Dutse.
The governor revealed that the lockdown will be effective from Monday midnight in the local government area. He went on to reveal that the essential service providers are exempted from the lockdown, and relief materials will also be distributed to the affected local government. Abubakar urged people of the state to be vigilant and alert in the area to avoid a spread of the virus.Â
