Coronavirus: Benue Extends Lockdown Curfew

As part of efforts to cushion the coronavirus, the Benue state government has extended its dusk-to-dawn curfew by two weeks.

Coronavirus COVID-19State governor, Samuel Ortom who made this known while briefing newsmen in the state on Wednesday said the move was designed to safeguard the citizens.

He said “The curfew is from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. It is extended because of the rising cases of the pandemic in some states. Our people travel to these states and this is a big problem.”He also noted that workers at the Grace Cottage Hospital, Makurdi, where the first case in the state was first admitted, were isolated for 14 days and have since tested negative to the virus.
