Burning scalp syndrome which is also known as trichodynia is a condition that can cause patients to experience a burning, tingling, and itching feeling on the scalp.

Scalp burning can be caused by a number of things, from dandruff to ringworm or something more serious like a bacterial infection while common symptoms include prickling, burning, or tingling sensations, as well as flaky, itchy skin.
