The Presidential Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Drug Abuse has said that one way to discourage alcoholism and alcohol intake is to ban the advertisement of it in the media.
Chairman of the Committee, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa made this known while responding to interview on a popular TV station.
He said “You really can’t say zero-alcohol because people have the rights. But when you consume more than is required and perhaps you are caught driving drunk, you know there is a penalty. So these penalties also have to be enforced. The drug control scourge in Nigeria, unless it is tackled, we are finished.”
