Collina Strada Puts Up A Fascinating Collection At The NYFW S/S 2019

After experiencing a hot day on the streets of New York, guests at the Collina Strada would definitely have a tale to tell about the show

With an air conditioned space and a peaceful ambience, the Collina Strada had the presentation of their collection. However the highlight of the show was the mood created by the designer; Hillary Taymour for the show. According to notes, which implied that she treated everyone to a Sound Bath, she explained; “an ancient Tibetan practice in yoga where one bathes in healing music, often generated through singing bowls and gongs.” The essence of this was to allow the sound work magic through the body, while creating a peaceful scenery. At the beginning of the show, the square shaped runway had children dressed in white walk round it clinking chimes. At the end of the parade they each sat in a bowl, arranged in a semi circle, while a child was in the middle. The child, Virsaviya Borun-Goncharova, was born with a rare condition which had her heart functioning outside her chest cavity. The collection had notable changes such as texture and chekers to her usually monochratic colour choice. See more photos of the collection below; Photo Credit: Getty
