Cold Shoulder! Deontay Wilder Snubs Anthony Joshua As He Wants Tyson Fury rematch

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has snubbed the possibility to negotiate an undisputed world heavyweight title fight, according to promoter Barry Hearn. Hearn and his son Eddie promote the current WBA, IBF and WBO champion Anthony Joshua, 29, who is pencilled in for an April 13 fight date at London’s Wembley Stadium.Talking to Love Sport Radio Hearn claims Wilder, 33, and his team have not responded to any proposals to negotiate a fight with Joshua. The British promoter believes the WBC champion is holding out for a rematch with Tyson Fury, 30 who Wilder fought to as controversial split decision draw on December 1. Hearn said: “We would desperately love to fight Deontay Wilder in Wembley on April 13th. We have offered him successively more and more. Not just guarantee money, but percentage money. It will generate many times more than he has ever earned in his life. But there’s a certain level beyond which we won’t go because AJ is the A-side.“Unfortunately to report that so far despite three, four emails, dozens of phone calls. We haven’t had one response from Deontay Wilder’s team. So sooner or later you take the hint that maybe they don’t want us that bad. But then they’re also, I guess, planning a Tyson Fury rematch.”Photo Credit: Getty
