Chief Justice Onnoghen Gets 47 Lawyers To Represent Him In Court

Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen, who has been sued by the Code of Conduct Tribunal for refusing to declare his assets upon resuming office has appeared in court today and the case adjourned until January 22. Onnoghewn was sued for the alleged false declaration of assets and is facing 6 counts of“failing to disclose many bank accounts linked to him as a judge on the Supreme Court, which he had allegedly used to save millions in local and foreign currency.” According to Premium Times, 47 senior lawyers, led by Wole Olanipekun, appeared in court to represent Onnoghen, despite he himself being absent. Photo Credit: Getty
